Mission
Northern Yacht Restoration, a DBA of
Lackey Sailing, LLC, is dedicated to the preservation of classic sailboats
and powerboats through restoration, rebuilding, unique projects, and
thorough documentation with a steady Internet presence. One boat at
a time, we strive to raise the bar in quality and return a neglected classic to
Bristol condition--at surprisingly reasonable cost. Let us
show you how.

Comprehensive
Restorations and Repairs
Northern Yacht is located in Whitefield, ME. The
shop, built in 2005, contains two separate work bays for up
to 40' boats, as well as a separate woodshop. NYR performs
structural repairs, systems installations, and finish work,

Projects
We specialize in full restorations
of older fiberglass sailboats, from stem to stern, but are perhaps
better known for our unique and stunning conversion projects in
which we create what are essentially all-new boats with new designs,
beginning with an older, classic hull from a worn-out boat of
generations past.

Spec Boats
In addition, we sometimes restore worthy sailboats on spec and offer
the finished product for sale. Currently, we have one future spec
project on site, a 1973 Sabre
28' sloop.

Signature Conversion
Projects
During
2007-2008, we rebuilt an aging Shields class 30' sloop to convert
her from her racing roots to a gentleman's weekender in the spirit
of the so-called "Knockabout Sloops" that were popular in the mid
20th century.
Recently completed, the finished product seems destined to turn
heads wherever she goes.
